by Wanda Eanes (Katy, Texas, USA; TMC member) I had the pleasure of visiting Neverland in August 2003 after Michael's 45th birthday party celebration in Los Angeles. Michael was so very generous to open his ranch to visitors. We had a wonderful day that went by so very quickly because we were filled with joy and awe of being at Michael's special place. We were treated to lunch outdoors on a beautiful day. I was fortunate to be able to spend the memorable day with my best friend, Sheila, and my other Michael friends. Sheila and I have met such nice people in the Michael Jackson community. We were savoring every moment. We knew that the outside world was far away and that we were "getting away from it all" at Michael's ranch. We enjoyed the train ride and felt the excitement of being a kid at heart. Watching "Ghosts" from Michael's theater was the coolest experience. The theater had a huge high definition screen. It was like Michael was really standing right there in the room with us. The movie actors looked like they could reach out and touch us. The movie theater chairs were extra comfortable and the sound quality of the movie was awesome. We felted very blessed. There was plenty of free popcorn and candy for the movie goers. It was a true treat for this visitor from Texas. We went to another place on the property that offered free specialty candy for us. Cute and unique candies of all sorts. Life-size statues of characters made the day an excellent vacation from the ordinary. We were on "holiday" at Neverland. Laughter filled the air as we rode one of the rides. My friend, Sheila, laughed at the spins and turns of the ride, and thoroughly enjoyed herself. She's more of a dare devil than me. I was turning pale at times, but smiled each time I heard her laughter and kept going on the journey. We took a break and ate popsicles in the outdoor carnival rides area of the ranch. We rode the merry-go-round, which offered words of wisdom painted on the horses of the ride. I love this kind of stuff, so it was very exciting to see that Michael likes to share his positive words in a written greeting to friends and family. We had fun riding the swing that takes you high into the air. I was scared at first, but Sheila showed me how to enjoy the ride and not to be scared. The ride operator thoroughly enjoyed his job and loved watching the riders be energized and full of life. The Neverland animals were hanging out at the ranch with us too. Lots of beauty to behold throughout Neverland. We saw the Giving Tree, where Michael loved to create songs for the world to enjoy. Where music and nature come together. In my mind, I could visualize Michael sitting in the tree of life and blending energizing words with beautiful music. Thank you, Michael, for opening your home to us. We have memories that we will never forget!
