Fans Remember Michael With 10,000 Red Roses Print E-mail

MJ(26-6-2012) Michael Jackson fans left thousands of roses at his tomb at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale (USA) on Monday, marking the third anniversary of the King of Pop's death.

A MJ fan group based in L.A. said they used social media sites to raise money from fans all over the world for the memorial project - finally collecting over $30,000. The roses were laid among sunflowers, left on a weekly basis by one loyal fan, as well teddy bears and other offerings. Afterwards the roses will be put to good use and recycled. Over half will be sent to senior centers and other places where they can be used to make people happy.

The Great Mausoleum, a replica of the Campo Santo in Genoa (Italy), where Michael Jackson was laid to rest beside several other stars, is strictly forbidden to the public. But fans have developed a habit of laying flowers and small notes in front of the stained glass window of a wall, close to his tomb.
